What is the stock market? (NSE & BSE)
The stock market is the shop where people buy and
sell shares. India has two big ones: NSE (National Stock Exchange) and BSE (Bombay
Stock Exchange). You never meet the seller — the exchange matches buyers and sellers by computer in
less than a second. It is open Monday–Friday, 9:15 am to 3:30 pm.
It's like a huge vegetable market, but instead of tomatoes, people buy and sell
tiny pieces of companies — and the price board updates every second.
